2008 Preview
Pro Sports City will shine even brighter
when NHL All-Stars show up

Back in January 2007, National Hockey League (NHL) Commissioner, Gary Bettman was in Atlanta to host a press conference announcing Atlanta as the host for the 2008 All-Star Game.

"We look forward with great anticipation to bringing the 2008 NHL All-Star Game to Atlanta, the Thrashers organization and their loyal fans," said Bettman.

Similar to last year there will be sports card shows, street hockey games, live entertainment and probably the most rewarding portion of the weekend, many charity events raising money for numerous organizations.

Then the hockey starts with the famous skills competition showcasing the fastest skating, hardest shooters in the world.

Thrashers co-owner Bruce Levenson said: "This event showcases the greatest players in the world and also brings a terrific and diverse line up of events and entertainment in celebration of the game."

"We're honored to host this fun and exciting event featuring the NHL's top players performing at one of the premier sports and entertainment venues, Philips Arena. This is a special reward for our diehard Thrashers season ticket holders, fans and sponsors, and is a terrific opportunity to showcase our great sport and Atlanta," said Levenson.
